I came to Ben with a thumb that would not bend without clicking, or else would not bend at all, or else would hurt. The orthopaedist said it was tendonitis and I could either have surgery, or a cortisone injection, or else a gizmo from the occupational therapy people. After more than two months of this, I went to Ben. The thumb became functional after three treatments, the fourth treatment just cemented the achievement. At the OT institute, I got a plastic sleeve to keep the thumb from bending at night. What made a great impression on me, was that Ben knows every bone and muscle/tendon in the body and knows to manipulate them to achieve the desired effect. This was my first encounter with Chinese medicine practices. I remain impressed.
